Wendy Williams

Founder


Wendy Williams founded TWEE Tutoring in 2007 and has taught in public and private schools for over thirty years. She has worked with students of all ages, all over the world and has a Master of Science degree in mathematics. Wendy teaches mathematics at all levels in addition to Chemistry, Physics, English, Statistics, Spanish and advanced test preparation (SAT, ACT, PSAT, TOFFEL and AP).
There is no greater compliment than when a student does well and believes in their own potential.

Julie Shanabrook

Specialty -Study Skills, Elementary and Middle School Academic Coach, College Admissions Prep, English and Latin


Julie was an Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia with a concentration in Biology before getting her Masters in Physical Therapy at Boston University. She understands the ins and outs of homeschooling, having home-schooled her own daughters from kindergarten through high school. Along the way she has completed courses in teaching multi-sensory math, study skills, and reading, and has taught chemistry, Prima Latina, Study Skills and grammar school mathematics at Classical Cottage School in Winchester, Virginia. Julie is also an accomplished musician who plays the cello and is taking a crack at jazz piano; she enjoys travel, rock climbing, and organic gardening.

Joie Guz-Montgomery

Specialty - Psychology, Academic Coach and College Admissions Prep


Joie has a master's degree in psychology. She loves teaching. She works extensively with elementary and middle school students, helping them boost their confidence and understand good study habits. She also helps students navigate through their college admissions applications and essays.
Helping a student understand a subject and overcome obstacles is what teaching is all about.

Julius Reynolds

Specialty - Chemistry


Julius earned his BS and MS, in chemistry, at North Carolina A&T University while being a standout football player for the university. Currently, he teaches and coaches football at Woodberry Forest School in Virginia. He is well-organized and a remarkable online teacher. His enthusiasm for life is infectious, and his gift for working with students is tremendous.
Coaching and teaching go hand-in-hand. I enjoy understanding how I can work together with my students and help them excel in science.

Andrea Knuth

Specialty - French, Physics, Academic Coach


Andrea graduated from the University of Dayton with her B.S.E in World Language Education and B.A in French. Her academic interests are dynamic in nature, as she additionally has a passion for math, physics, and teaching English as a second language. Having served as a lead teacher, tutor, and teacher’s assistant in a variety of disciplines, environments, and ages, she understands that the positive relationships and “breakthrough” moments with her students are what lay the foundation for it all.
Teaching is such a rewarding experience. That moment when a student understands a concept they've been struggling with is why I tutor and give back to the community. I believe that positivity is crucial in lifting my students up and helping them believe in themselves.

Marek Vasilkov

Specialty - History and Russian


Marek has a Virginia state teaching endorsement in History. He speaks Russian, English, Lithuanian and Polish. Marek is a former cyber-security analyst and stays at home with his kids and understands the importance of adjusting teaching methods to learning styles.
Every child has a different learning style and it is up to us to adapt our teaching style in order to connect with the student.

Kirsten Guz-Montgomery

Specialty - Biology, Chemistry, and Physics


Kirsten has a master's degree in Molecular Biology and had worked at various cancer research labs around the country. She works with those students in biology, chemistry and physics who are interested in learning techniques and procedures to master those areas of their academics. Kirsten is familiar with training employees in a lab setting and has taken that expertise in her lessons with students in STEM.
My real world experience training nurses aides and working in a cancer lab enables me to educate my STEM students in a unique way.

Maribeth Vasilkov

Specialty - ESOL, English and Russian


Maribeth holds a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She is fluent in both English and Russian and has taught in Belarus and in homeschool co-ops. Maribeth is an ESL teacher who teaches English while making classroom content accessible to speakers of other languages. In addition to ESL, Maribeth is versed in homeschool teaching methods for elementary and middle school-aged children.
I love making learning contextual and helping students see the connections between ideas. No word gives me more pleasure to hear than "Oh!" as a student understands a concept they previously struggled to learn.

Lou Duloisy

Specialty - Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math


Lou graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s in environmental biology and then pursued an M.Ed. from Teton Science Schools. Currently she is contributing to a USDA-funded project studying the capacity for trees to use stored water to withstand drought and pursuing her doctorate degree. She loves working with students as they engage in scientific topics. In her spare time Lou loves to climb, ski and bike.
I love working watching students get excited about science.

Nancy Juday

Specialty - American History and Latin


Nancy is devoted to helping her home-schooled students and served as the senior advisor to a member of Congress, supervising the professional staff and serving as a staff member to a congressional committee and the Vice President of the United States. She teaches American History, is a Student Council Advisor and conducts Latin reviews.
I truly enjoy connecting the lessons of American history with my knowledge and experience working in the government. Bringing our history to life by approaching the subject with enthusiasm is important to learning the course material!

Luciana Codella

Specialty - Math, Science and Academic Coaching (Elementary and Middle School)


Luciana graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia. She is also an accomplished artist and works in many forms of visual art media. She has worked with students of all ages in math and science and as an academic coach. She loves working with kids; she loves to learn and finds joy in sharing that knowledge with others. She is patient and caring. Her favorite thing to do is field work in her environmental science discipline because she gets to go outdoors and and surrounded by nature.
I really like working as an academic coach for middle schoolers. It’s fun.

Carrie Grimsley

Specialty - Elementary Academic Coach


Carrie graduated from LFCC with an Associate's degree in Education and has spent the last 13 years putting that degree in to action homeschooling her two daughters. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies from BYU-Idaho. In her spare time she loves to read and refurbish furniture. Over the years she has discovered that developing a love for learning is not something one can actually be taught, but rather, a child must discover that love on their own.
I love encouraging my students to discover their love for learning. My job is to help them discover that the things they are learning now will prepare them to pursue a life filled with the things they love.

Iris Lee

Specialty - English, Science, Math, Economics and Academic Coaching


Iris graduated magna cum laude from Brandeis University with a bachelor's degree in Economics and Anthropology and a minor in Business. She has worked with students ranging from elementary school to undergraduate school levels, in math, science and English.
I enjoy a variety of subjects and helping my students truly understand that they have unlimited potential!
